Keith Evans

Managing Partner

Keith has over twenty five years of executive recruitment experience and has a personal focus on General Management, Partner and VP appointments as well as being responsible for Grosvenor Clive & Stokes’ business operations.

He has over fifteen years’ specialist experience in senior, cross functional recruitment in the Energy, Management Consulting, Industrial/Utilities arenas. His assignments embrace ‘Big Four’ consulting firms, ‘Blue Chip’ FTSE corporates and smaller high growth companies.

After graduating with an upper second in Economics from the University College of Wales he had an initial spell in Finance before joining one of the UK’s leading international recruitment groups.  During ten years there, the bulk of his work focused on finance, consulting and technology appointments, and he both set up and ran a number of business units before heading the technology practice for a separately branded search firm. He was subsequently a founding Director of Prism in 1997, responsible for its search services before becoming Managing Partner of Grosvenor Wright when it devolved into a separate business and subsequently of the combined businesses of Grosvenor Wright and Clive & Stokes International in October 2011.

Keith is a member of the Energy Industries Club and the Institute of Directors.


Tim Beckh

Managing Partner

After graduating with an MA in Political Economics, Tim joined the Armed Forces serving as a Royal Engineer Officer in the Far East, Germany, the Balkans and UK, including tours with the Army’s Officer Recruitment & Assessment Team and as an Instructor at The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.

On leaving the Army, Tim joined the technology recruitment division of a leading UK executive search & selection firm working on senior leadership and technical appointments for clients across a range of sectors including the energy, manufacturing, software, FMCG and business services industries. Over the last few years, Tim has worked with a wide range of early stage and established energy services, telecoms, technology and engineering services businesses, as well as a spectrum of professional services and consulting firms the UK and Europe. He has particular expertise in senior general management, sales/business development, technology leadership and practice management appointments.

Tim is a trustee of two charities, a member of the Energy Industries Club and a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Fuellers.


Steve Brandon

Board Advisor

Steve has over thirty years experience in IT and Management Consulting He graduated with a degree in Mathematics and Computing and spent the early part of his career in the computer software and services industry before joining the Management Consultancy divisions of PricewaterhouseCoopers and then Deloitte.

With PricewaterhouseCoopers and previous companies, Steve worked with many clients across a variety of sectors to manage change in their organisations. The focus of his work was the use of information technology to deliver increased efficiency and improvements in clients’ business operations.

For ten years Steve was a senior partner within the Consulting division of Deloitte. He was a member of the executive leadership team and his responsibilities encompassed leading the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) business unit and managing the overall operational performance of the consulting business. Client projects whilst at Deloitte involved business change and business improvement enabled through the use of enhanced information technology systems.

Steve also fulfilled a term as a member of the Deloitte UK Board. This role had a wide remit of governance of the firm, agreeing strategic direction and understanding risk and compliance matters. In addition, he sat on the remuneration and partner admission sub-committees.

Steve is a member of his local area board for The Prince’s Trust, where he sits on the panel that determines financial loans to young people to allow them to start a business, and he also mentors individuals starting their own ventures.  His other interests include supporting Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and Worcester Warriors RUFC team. Steve also enjoys the opportunity he now has for travel and is determined to catch up with the places his children have visited on their gap years!

Alex Chalke


Prior to joining Grosvenor Clive and Stokes, Alex spent thirteen years working in various management and leadership roles within executive search, focused on the Energy & Natural Resources sectors.

He has particularly extensive experience within the oil and gas sector, having taken responsibility for numerous national and international assignments, across the key business and technical functions.

As well as working with major, international companies Alex has strong relationships with many smaller to mid-sized exploration & production companies, services businesses and oil and gas advisory consultancies.  He has supported numerous such businesses in building their leadership teams; including CEOs and Heads of Subsurface, Commercial, Financial and Development functions.

Alex is a member of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB) the London Geological Society and the Institute of Directors.


David Davies


David conducts chief executive, main board, functional head and senior executive level searches in a variety of sectors, such as oil and gas, power, water, engineering procurement & construction, professional services, education and shipping.

This has included positions in marketing, sales, project management, business development, refining, legal, corporate affairs, accounting and finance, exploration, production and human resources.

He has worked on assignments in many parts of the world, including the UK, USA, Latin America, Russia, Australia, Turkey, Africa, Europe, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Romania, the Caribbean and Madagascar.

In his early career he worked with BP, where he was employed in a variety of senior strategic and operational positions, including Head of Reward, Senior HR Policy Advisor and HR Manager for the Central Engineering Department. He has also been the Managing Director of a boutique international executive search firm.

He holds a BSc degree in Mathematics from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel Management and Development.


Florian de Cormis


Prior to joining Grosvenor Clive & Stokes, Florian spent 9 years working in various Finance and Project Management roles with the French construction firm, Bouygues Construction in Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific.

He developed a deep understanding of the operation of major construction, civil works and EPC turnkey projects (e.g. High Speed Line Rail Infrastructure) and, in particular, the use of innovative systems and technologies. These included BIM, energy efficiency and smart grids. He also has first hand knowledge of bidding process and operation of consortia including quality, health, safety and the environment (QHSE) standards.

Florian is primarily focusing on:

  • Civil works & Rail Infrastructure, Construction and Facility Management
  • Power Generation – and Environmental Services: Waste & Water treatment
  • Industrial: Aerospace, Automotive and Robotics

Florian has advised and placed a number of senior industry leaders internationally.

He studied in France and in Canada.

Oliver Knox


Oliver focuses on the global energy, commodities and natural resources markets. He supports multinationals, listed businesses and privately funded ventures across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Searches regularly involve moving executives, both local and foreign nationals, cross border.  Recent locations include Cameroon, DRC, Gabon, Mozambique, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, as well as mainland Europe, UK and UAE.

He studied Physical Geography at the University of Southampton.


Edward Libbey


Edward focuses on international energy companies and markets. He has completed assignments in a number of European countries and also further afield in USA, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Kazakhstan and in Africa. His clients mainly come from the UK, the USA, Canada and the Middle East.

He spent over 20 years with BP in a variety of commercial, strategic and operational roles in the USA, UK, Belgium and the Netherlands and was subsequently the US President and a director of Whatman plc. He is currently Chairman of World Energy Solutions, a NASDAQ listed company that he led to an IPO, a board member of the Oil & Pipelines Agency and Non Executive Director and Audit Chair of NHS Norfolk.

He was educated at Churchill College, Cambridge, holds a doctorate in chemistry and is a graduate of the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School. He is also a Fellow of both the Energy Institute and the Royal Society of Chemistry and a member of the Security Institute.


Jayne Maxwell


Jayne has a long track record in finding senior executives in the international energy sector. She is one of the executive search market leaders in energy (oil, gas and power), renewables and utilities but has also carried out assignments in other sectors such as consumer goods, infrastructure, telecommunications and management consulting.

Functionally her work has covered most management disciplines and regularly involves both finding and placing people both locally and internationally.

A large number of her searches involve moving people cross border and finding local, foreign nationals. Most recently she has been working in Nigeria, Pakistan, Egypt, Tanzania, Algeria and Singapore.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Middlebury College, Vermont, USA and was the winner of the Thomas Watson Scholarship which enabled her to carry out anthropological research in South East Asia.


Simon Pratt


Simon Pratt has been in top-level executive search for over 30 years latterly specialising in construction, infrastructure, consumer/retail and manufacturing. He is also a founder member of acumen7 a consultative group of senior business leaders who can provide seasoned technical support and specific industry knowledge to add value to the search process.

For 12 years he was a Partner with GKR (now merged with Whitehead Mann). Previously he set up the UK search business for A T Kearney which he ran for ten years. Earlier in his career he was based in the Netherlands for five years where he established and successfully managed a search business on behalf of a US company. Prior to his entry into search he worked for Lucas Industries and Ferranti.

He was educated at Dover College and Birmingham College of Commerce.


Tim Shingler


Tim has worked in international Upstream Oil & Gas recruitment since 2003 specialising in senior geoscience and petroleum engineering appointments. His clients include a wide range of energy companies from global multinationals to the independent oil producers.

He also has a strong relationship with the Oilfield Services industry and the Consulting sector, where he has a particular expertise in recruiting for specialist advisory firms operating in Exploration & Production. Tim’s experience spans both the subsurface and commercial disciplines of his clients, finding business managers as well as senior technical staff.

Tim has a truly international client and contact base and has worked successfully on assignments in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia as well as in Africa and the FSU.

Prior to his career in executive recruitment, Tim spent many years working in the oil industry, firstly with Shell ExPro then as an oil analyst with James Capel and latterly as the Director leading the Petroleum Service Group at Arthur Andersen.

Tim is a member of the Energy Institute (EI), the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB) and the SE Asia Petroleum Exploration Society (SEAPEX).


Justin Wharton


Justin focuses on senior level executive search mandates in the Energy & Natural Resources, Industrial and Mining sectors across Europe, Middle East and Africa for the last ten years. He has completed a range of senior searches spanning CEO, Managing Director and General Manager positions across a range of Commercial, Investment, Corporate, Operational and Technical functions for listed and privately owned companies.

Justin has fifteen years of experience in senior sales and marketing roles in the manufacturing and corporate fit out sectors.

He graduated from Newcastle University with BA (Hons) Geography.
